A Free Interactive IPO Calendar

The post “A Free Interactive IPO Calendar” was originally published on Robot Wealth blog.

Sometimes it’s nice to step away from the deep technical stuff and just build something simple and useful.

What Is an IPO Calendar and Why Use One?

I’ve linked the free IPO calendar below if you just want to jump in and explore.

But if you’re not familiar, an IPO calendar is a tool that tracks companies going public, showing both upcoming and recent IPOs. It’s handy for staying on top of new listings, spotting patterns, or just satisfying your curiosity about what’s hitting the market.

This one pulls data from the free finnhub.io API and wraps it in a simple R Shiny interface. Nothing fancy, just a quick way to scan what’s new without digging through press releases or exchange websites.

Why I Built This IPO Calendar

I’d been buried in options data for a few weeks, building out pipelines for a straddle-over-earnings strategy we’re working on. It was getting a bit heavy.

IPO R Shiny

So I decided to take a breather and build something lighter, still useful, but a bit more fun. The idea for the IPO calendar came up while thinking about ways to keep track of new market entrants without scraping sites or digging through finance portals.

It also gave me a chance to mess around with R Shiny again, which I hadn’t used in a while. Simple project, quick feedback loop, and something others might find helpful too.

Try It Out

The calendar is live and ready to use. Just pick a date and it’ll show you IPOs from around that time. Click a ticker to get all the details.
Check out the Free IPO calendar here.
It’s free, no sign-up, no catch, just a quick tool you can bookmark and come back to whenever you’re curious.
