Catch up on the top industries and stocks that were impacted, or were predicted to be impacted, by the comments, actions and policies of President Donald Trump with this daily recap compiled by The Fly.

TARIFF RELIEF: The Trump administration is considering tariff relief for automakers that expand U.S. manufacturing, amid discussions to encourage Audi (AUDVF) to build a $4B assembly plant in Georgia, The Wall Street Journal’s Sharon Terlep, Gavin Bade, and Owen Tucker-Smith report. The proposed program is likely to require companies to commit to starting factory construction before the end of next year to qualify, according to the report. Publicly traded companies in the space include Ford (F), General Motors (GM), Honda (HMC), Lucid Group (LCID), Mercedes-Benz (MBGYY), Nissan (NSANY), Rivian (RIVN), Stellantis (STLA), Tesla (TSLA), Toyota (TM) and Volkswagen (VWAGY).

PUSH BACK: In recent months, Meta (META) and Google (GOOGL) have taken steps to push back against the overbroad demands from the Department of Homeland Security for information as well as delaying responses to some requests, Emily Glazer, Georgia Wells, and Hannah Critchfield of The Wall Street Journal report, citing current and former employees, executives, and advisers familiar with the matter. This comes ahead of the midterm elections, as Democrats push to regain power and board members try to insulate their firms from potential future Democratic-led investigations while placating the Trump administration, sources added.

CHEESECAKE FACTORY: Days after former President Barack Obama mocked President Donald Trump for making the White House appear “like Saddam Hussein opened a Cheesecake Factory,” financial disclosures seen by The Daily Beast show that Trump purchased between $35,007 and $175,00 worth of shares in Cheesecake Factory (CAKE) last year.
