Singapore 1.8% CPI “Yes” Contract At $0.54 On Tuesday Was Likely Undervalued In Light of 2% Expectation

On Tuesday, economists and analysts anticipated that Thursday’s release of the Singapore Consumer Price Index would reflect an acceleration from May’s 1.8% year-over-year increase to 2% for June. The nation’s significant reliance on energy imports likely pushed up the rate of inflation as an unchanged figure or a decline appeared improbable, in my opinion. Against this backdrop, the “Yes” Interactive Brokers Prediction Market contract with a 1.8% threshold appeared to be potentially undervalued at $0.54 as of Tuesday, because I believe the CPI is poised for an uptick. The contract would pay $1 for a CPI print that exceeds 1.8%.

The consensus agrees with my outlook for the inflation gauge as none of the participants in the monthly Reuters poll consisting of 16 forecasters anticipated a decline, with the minimum and maximum projections standing at 1.9% and 2.3% amidst a median of 2%.

Note: Prices are highest bids as of the morning of July 21, 2026.
