As of the start of this week, the Tuesday, Sept. 29, release of the US Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS) result was expected to be similar to August’s 7.271 million print, as the number of job vacancies has continued to exceed the volume of unemployed persons. The Yes” contract with a 7.2 million threshold on Monday was priced at $0.68 in the Interactive Brokers Prediction Markets, but the indicator is more volatile than other metrics and has featured significant surprises in the past. Additionally, the “Yeses” at 7 million and 7.4 million were priced at $0.92 and $0.34 on Monday, while the monthly Reuters poll of 12 forecasters had a median estimate of 7.24 million amidst minimum and maximum projections of 7.15 million and 7.391 million. Overall, the result was anticipated to depict ongoing employment stability.
