Coupon

Trading Term

The coupon is the interest paid on a bond expressed as a percentage of the face value. If a bond carries a fixed coupon, the interest is usually paid on an annual or semi-annual basis. The term also describes the detachable certificate entitling the bearer to payment of the interest.
