The verdict was expected to be a hold and not a hike, as an 81% probability of no change as of Tuesday signaled with a high degree of confidence that the central bank is likely to be steady. Meanwhile, a few officials have wanted to get in front of elevated inflationary pressures by tightening policy sooner rather than later and for that reason, there were 29%, 30% and 13% changes as of Tuesday of exactly one, two, or three dissenters at the Wednesday gathering of policymakers. Furthermore, the prices for 0 and four were priced at $0.25 and $0.07 on Tuesday, indicating a wide range of potential outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
